My Poems
Okay, so I'm at it again. Once again I'm at a loss as to what to write, so I'll use this nonsensical "poetry." The first one "The Rain," came to me a few days ago, while using public transportation, during an uncharacteristically rainy Southern California day. Elementary, sure, but it accurately expressed my feelings that day. The second one is not a feeling, only a thought. So here goes.
The Rain
The rain, the rain came today
I think the rain is here to stay
I wish it would rain only at night
But today I see no end to the rain in sight
When it rains it makes me sad
And for that I feel bad
For I know the rain produces good
And it rains as it should
But for me I still say
Rain, rain go away

WHEN YOU’RE IN LOVE
When you’re in love you step a little lighter
The sun shines just a little bit brighter
When you walk your feet never seems to touch the ground
Never a bad day can there be found
Even when there’s confusion
You seem to feel it’s only an illusion
Oh, but when that love goes bad
It seems a good day you’ve never had
For now you see things a little clearer
Your personal time never seemed dearer
Each step becomes harder to take
And good days are harder to make
So while you’re in love, make the best of it
Because sometimes love leaves, you must admit

Here I am, didn’t you notice me
Here I am, where should I be
Here I am, at your beck and call
Here I am like a fly on the wall
Here I am, just where I’m suppose to be
Here I am, please set me free

You are mine, no matter what they say
You are mine, all the way
You are mine, I want to hold you near
You are mine, have no fear
You are mine, with every move I make
You are mine with every breath I take
Your are mine, didn’t you know
You are mine, please don’t ever go
You are mine, let’s not delay
You are mine, let’s seize the day
You are mine, what can I say to you
You are mine, just say I do

I like the poem, "When You're In Love" the best. It realisticaly conveys the message that while you have love in your life, it is truly a great thing. It's a great reminder too, that we need to cherish it while we have it. Good job Fastfreta. I enjoyed everyone.

You know fastfreta - it has been so long since I wrote a poem - and I have so much to be grateful for - it is time for me to sit down and put thoughts to pen to paper. Thanks for your poems and the inspiration.
And speaking of traveling by bus - I had the nicest, handsomest, kindest bus driver on a bright sunny day after so many rainy, cold days - he made my day. Inspiration is all around. Thanks for this reminder (and that great photo)!

Good stuff and great tone! Just today I was digging through my old notebooks and scrap papers from when I thought I was a poet! Ah, the tradegy of reading some of them.. but I definitely enjoyed reading all your original work, Freta!

i really like the poem "here i am " this small poem speaks volumes beyond it's short words.

Hi friend, I've missed you. I've been in the hospital with pneumonia so I have a lot of catching up to do. I enjoyed your poems as I do everything that you write because I know it comes from the heart and that is always beautiful. Off to see what else i've missed from you.

I enjoyed these. I see you're free and easy in your writing and probably many people are on here, but I'm sort of enthused about you because I was starting to think I could never do this. Some of the articles on IHUB are so well-written and long -- I wouldn't feel like me if I had to write them and that's why after a year of journalism, I knew it wasn't for me. I have to write about things I have some feeling for. In reading your bio page, I see that you do that. When I get more time on here, I'll likely find that a lot of people do that and so this is beginning to look like a nice place to be. Great photo!

You know, I never read the hubs before I got started writing myself, and I'm glad that I didn't, because I might have been somewhat intimidated. Because as you said, some of the articles are way beyond what I could ever accomplish, so reading them might have caused me to be halted in my tracks.
As you continue writing here on HubPages, you'll find that this is a user friendly site and also a really people friendly site. I have a lot of fun and know you will too.

Hello Fastfreta. I really related to the poem about rain, because I also love to hear the rain at night, but find darkness depressing during the day. The one about being in love was also true for me, and I related to being light on my feet, finding that even having a silly crush on someone does that for me, in spite of its not being "real" love.
