I Never Thought Of That lll....Helpful Hints...Removing Burnt on Food
Part lll
As promised in part one of this series, I Never Thought Of That, I would continue this as long as it held my interest, so here's another installment. As you will notice some will be things that I've discovered in my everyday life and others are from research or solicited from friends and family.
As some of you read these, your reaction might be, "duh, well yeah." While others will say, " hey, I never thought of that." If just one person has the latter reaction about even one of these, then my work here is done. LOL!
I Never Thought Of That
1. Okay here's one just for the ladies. Say girls, who of us hasn't had this problem at one time or another. You put your favorite black dress on after first applying your deodorant, and oh no, there's those ever present white tracks right down both sides. Now, what to do, what to do? Most would reach for the trusty wet cloth, which in most cases doesn't work, or cause more problems, especially if the garment is "dry clean only." Well, my solution is, instead of the wet cloth, reach for a dry one. Yes, I said dry. The cloth should be the same or close to the color of your garment, one that does not shed. Hold the garment taunt and rub vigorously, and voila, the deodorant stain is history.
2. Here's one that sounds good to me, and one I never thought of. Removing burnt food from your pot, that would have come in handy when my children were home and cooking. Well, I must admit I've learned the great art of burning food, because I sometimes cook from the bedroom, (my sanctuary). Anyway, the tip is, place a dryer sheet in the pan and fill with hot water, and after 30 minutes simply wipe away the burnt on food.
3. Oh say, this is one of my favorites. It concerns the bathroom floor. Who of us that still has hair left on our heads, don't find many of those on the floor after a morning of grooming. Although I Love To Clean, I don't always want to be cleaning my bathroom floor. So I came up with a solution. I wad up some toilet tissue and lightly moisten it and use it to gather up the hair, simply flush. Not only have you saved time, but you've also saved money, by not using a cleaning solution or those disposable pads.
4. Recall we mentioned in the first article, not throwing away old gym socks. Well, let's offer that same advice for used pantyhose. They can be used to freshen a closet or drawer. First and foremost wash them. Then purchase your favorite fragrance of potpourri and pour into the foot, tie it off, and if you're hanging it in a closet, leave the entire hose intact, and hang in the rear of the closet. However if you're using it in a drawer you can tie it off and cut to desired length and place in the bottom of your drawer.
